DailyOrigin is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Reading the news should not depend on how you browse.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML with proper landmarks and a logical heading order.
- Full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators.
- A skip-to-content link on every page.
- Text and interface colours that meet AA contrast ratios.
- Descriptive alt text on images — required before an image can be published.
- Meaning never conveyed by colour alone.
- Reduced-motion support that honours your system preference.
- Form fields with associated labels and errors announced to assistive technology.
Known limitations
Third-party embedded content (video players, social posts) is outside our control and may not meet the same standard. Where an embed is essential to an article, we describe its content in the surrounding text.
