Who runs this publication
DailyOrigin is owned and operated by {{OWNER_NAME}}, based in {{COUNTRY}}. We are a small operation rather than a large newsroom, and we would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise. Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, and their background is on their author page.
What we publish
Our work falls into a few clear categories, and we label each one so you always know what you are reading:
- News and analysis — reporting on events, with context that explains their significance.
- Explainers and guides — background and practical instruction written to stay useful long after publication.
- Opinion and editorials — argument and judgement, visually separated from our reporting and always labelled.
- Reviews — independent assessments, with our methodology stated.
How we choose stories
We prioritise subjects where we can add something a reader cannot get from a wire summary: context, comparison, a timeline, a plain-language explanation, or an answer to the question "what does this actually mean for me?". We do not republish press releases as news, and we do not rewrite other publications' work to chase traffic.
How we handle mistakes
We correct errors openly. When a published article changes in a way that affects its meaning, we add a dated correction notice to the article itself rather than editing quietly. Our full approach is set out in the Corrections Policy.
How we are funded
DailyOrigin is free to read and requires no account. We intend to fund the publication through advertising and, where relevant, clearly labelled sponsored content and affiliate links. Commercial arrangements never determine what we cover or what we conclude. See Ownership and Funding for the detail.
